Use the arrow keys to steer your ship as you see fit. Avoid hitting the walls, and avoid the rocks that come in your path at all cost. If hit, the screen will darken, if hit further, the game will be over. One hit doesn't mean the game is over, if you avoid further hits, your screen will clear again.
